Petronas Twin Towers, KL, Malaysia-2008

My first time trip to KL (not touch and go which I did many a times before) Malaysia in May 08 with my daughter was very exciting and I just loved the place and amazed to see the mega structure - Petronas Twin Towers.

We read on internet earlier that free passes are available to visit the bridge between the two towers. We wanted to try our luck. We got up as early as 5 am, grabbed the first served breakfast and rushed out of the hotel still breakfast in our mouths! As we got into the taxi, the driver comforted us saying we may be very early and just need to relax. God bless him. We relaxed and looked around at the early morning light reflecting on the cranes in the new construction sites. We were told that since the 'twin towers' became like a legend, the craziness to build 'twin' buildings has caught up and a few building are coming up though not so huge and mighty.

Here is the part which really made me write this particular post. We got down and saw a few armed police cautiously eyeing the visitors but not at all disturbing. We saw a few staff running arrands and a few people looking dazed and confused walking around. Leaving the first and the last categories, I approached the staff to guide me to the spot where the passes or tickets are given to go on to the bridge.

The lady simply asked me to go in and assured me that I will see right away what I am looking for. Great!! We rushed in to a huge empty shopping mall echoing our footsteps. We found a few more confused people walking aimless peeping into all nuke and corners. This story is almost 30 mnts long and at the end of which I almost went crazy with my daughter's questions and the 'staff's directions. After a few mnts I realised that all they are doing is pointing towards their right no matter where they stand!!!

OK now, I will end my frustrating, time consuming, self pitty story here and give you clear directions as to how to get to what you really want - Free Admission Tickets to Skybridge of Petronas Twin Towers, KL, Malaysia!

Behind her is the secret entrance to the place to get the entrance tickets. Just for your information, even at this place you don't see any notice or information to tell you that this IS the place to get the free passes!

See the escalator? Take it down to Basement1 to get to the counters. We took the pictures after we finished the advanture and are heading home. So, you see my daughter on the going up escalator.
